The Nigerian hip hop artiste popularly known for his stage name, “Olamide baddo”, hails from Ijebu in Ogun State. He was born and grew up in Bariga, Lagos State. His full name is Olamide Adedeji and he was born on the fifteenth of March, 1989.
In 2011, his first ever debut studio album Rapsodi was released when he was signed to Coded Tunes. He released his next album, YBNL under his record label YBNL Nation.
Olamide signed an endorsement deal with Ciroc as the first Nigerian artist in July, 2013. He has won many music awards which includes The Headies Awards. Olamide join the list of wealthy artist like Davido and others when he signed for luxury vodka Ciroc. This deal put him in the record as the first Nigerian Ambassador for the company which put him among international representative like French Montana and Rick Ross.
He had his primary and secondary education in Lagos. He said he wanted to be a footballer during his childhood. He decided to pursue a musical career because he found out that he is gifted in music and he wants to pursue it saying music is his life, hustle and world. YBNL, his second album was released in November, 2012 which featured Tiwa Savage, Kayswitch, Davido, Dammy Krane, Reminisce, Samklef, and other up and coming artistes as guest appearances.
Olamide released another album in 2013 titled “Baddest Guy Ever Liveth” in which singles like Anifowose, and Story for the Gods were featured. On the 24th of October, Olamide signed a multi-million naira deal with the big brand Guinness and he also became an ambassador to Etisalat in November 2013.
