Who is a leader? Leadership is spelt with more than ten letters; it consists of a number of alphabets including command and sacrifices. A leader is one who strikes delicate balances between professionalism and informality, commendations and sanctions, and all that pertains to the effective driving of the train of everyday activities.

He is not mean, however describing him as excessively jovial would be false; he has a calculated temperament. He is a motivator that speaks more with WORKS than WORDS.
He is not an island, he is a team player; the mid-field player in his organizational football, he sustains his team practically by pulling all the necessary social and structural strings. He sets a goal for his team and knows best where each unit of the team fits; he leads them to plucking the best fruits from the trees of success.
He is the one Alexander the great referred to when he talked about the effectiveness of a lion who leads an army of sheep over a sheep who leads an army of lions.
The following are a number of key features that unlocks the doors of successful leadership; you would be accurate to call them the definition of a leader.
A leader is constantly self-aware of the spot he occupies. Now, this is different from pride where an individual recognizes his position to the demeaning of the personality of his fellow. In being self-conscious, the leader always carries with him the sense responsibility, he realizes that his shoulders must be broad enough to bear any load that suffices in the course of his venture, he would not transfer blames unduly.
He is well nourished with empathy, and would not scold his followers embarrassingly in public—he would rather think up more constructive schemes to amend the wrongs whatsoever; he praises them whenever they achieve an organizational goal.
Clearly he distinctly defines the boundaries for employees and his sub-ordinates, shaping their relationship and actions; nonetheless, he tries to be less of a boss.
He fuses all the arms of his organization to ensure that they collectively discover their “philosopher’s stone”; however, he is proud to bear the pride of failing after a noble attempt. He is one who, in the heat of discharging his duties, sweats out plenty nobility.

The leader boosts the belief of his team in the vision and dream of the organization, and promotes their interest in giving their best shot at converting their optimism into tangible results.
5. Leaders Maintain a Reasonable Degree of Honesty
They realize that organizations grow only when each unit work hand-in-hand reliably and without frictions. If there are traces of dishonest dealings, the organization would have to face a severe deal of blow, at least on the long run.
The Leader adopts an attitude of utter transparency and leave their action clear as crystal to his employees; who subsequently get woven up in the threads of integrity as well.
6. He is an Extra-Ordinary Planner
He is prepared for any eventuality even if their odds are slim. He has multiple contingency plans, however he always chooses the best. Haven calculated all the prospects of his organization, he sketches all the paths he could possibly take from the state of his firm currently, and critically selects that trail that leads to the most fortune and success.
